Telangana State Formation Day Celebrated with Tributes at Collectorate
Telangana State Formation Day was observed with great reverence and patriotic spirit across the state. At the District Collectorate, a solemn tribute was paid to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the formation of the state. The event witnessed the participation of Telangana State Finance Commission Chairman Siricilla Rajaiah, District Collector Abhilasha Abhinav, Superintendent of Police Janaki Sharmila, and other senior officials, who gathered to honor the legacy of the statehood movement.
The ceremony began in the morning with the unfurling of the national flag, followed by the laying of floral wreaths at the Martyrs’ Stupa. The leaders paid their respects to the brave souls who stood firm in their resolve to achieve statehood, leading to the historic formation of Telangana on June 2, 2014.
Speaking on the occasion, Siricilla Rajaiah recalled the sacrifices made by students, youth, and leaders who stood united in their fight for a separate state. “Their dedication and courage laid the foundation of today’s progressive Telangana. It is our duty to honor them, not just in words but through our actions in building a stronger state,” he said.
District Collector Abhilasha Abhinav, in her speech, highlighted the state’s journey over the past decade. “From improved irrigation to better education and welfare programs, Telangana has seen remarkable growth. This would not have been possible without the sacrifices of those we honor today,” she stated.
SP Janaki Sharmila emphasized the role of peace and law enforcement in the state’s development. “As we move forward, it is our responsibility to maintain the law and order that supports this progress. Today, we salute the heroes who gave us this identity,” she said.
