Kothagudem Anti-Drugs Awareness Program: SP Rohit Raju Inspires 500 Students to Say No to Drugs

Kothagudem, Telangana – In a powerful initiative to foster a drug-free youth community, Bhadradri Kothagudem District Superintendent of Police Rohit Raju, IPS, spearheaded a Kothagudem Anti-Drugs Awareness Program at Dhanvantari Pharmacy College, under the active supervision of Sujatanagar Police.

Over 500 students attended the event, making it one of the most impactful anti-narcotics awareness programs in the district this year.

SP Rohit Raju’s Candid Address: “Choose Life, Not Drugs”

Addressing the massive student gathering, SP Rohit Raju spoke with clarity, compassion, and authority about the physical, mental, and legal consequences of drug use. “This is not just a law enforcement issue. It’s about protecting your future. One wrong step can destroy a lifetime of dreams,” he warned.

He encouraged students to become anti-drug ambassadors and play an active role in building a drug-free Kothagudem.

Students Engaged in Real Talk About Addiction

In a rare interactive format, the SP opened the floor for students to ask questions. Many enquired about common signs of drug abuse, peer pressure handling, and how to help a friend caught in substance misuse.

“Students were open and bold in their questions, and we’re proud of that. It shows they are aware and willing to act,” said a faculty member.

Sujatanagar Police: A Backbone in Drug Awareness Campaigns

The Sujatanagar Police have been at the forefront of organizing awareness sessions in schools, colleges, and public spaces. Their approach has combined education, vigilance, and support — especially focusing on youth empowerment rather than fear.

A senior officer from Sujatanagar station emphasized, “Awareness is the first line of defense. When students understand the damage drugs can do, they’re far more likely to resist it and help others.”

Focus on Future: Drug-Free Clubs and Continued Programs

During the session, SP Rohit Raju announced the rollout of Youth Drug-Free Clubs across institutions in Kothagudem. These clubs will lead student-based awareness activities, monitor mental well-being, and connect with police and health experts regularly.

Also planned is the “Drug-Free Telangana on Wheels” campaign — a mobile outreach initiative that will visit interior mandals with educational materials, videos, and expert talks.

The College Applauds Law Enforcement

The Principal and faculty of Dhanvantari Pharmacy College thanked the police for their personal involvement. “For our students to see a senior IPS officer standing with them, talking with them, and guiding them — this makes a huge impact,” said the Principal.

They committed to hosting regular mental health sessions and drug-awareness workshops as part of their co-curricular programming.

Social Media Upliftment: Youth Share the Message

Photos and videos from the event flooded local social media with hashtags like #KothagudemDrugFree, #SayNoToDrugs, and #RohitRajuIPS. Students who attended posted selfies with the SP and shared their learnings with peers online.

One student captioned her post: “Today we learned more than books could teach. Thank you, SP sir, for caring about our lives beyond the classroom.”

SP’s Closing Words: “Let’s Be the Change Together”

As the event concluded, SP Rohit Raju IPS gave a heartfelt closing message:

“I may wear a uniform, but the real fight is in your hands — in your choices. Be leaders, not followers. Stay drug-free. Help a friend. Inform the police. And always remember — we are here to support you.”

With strong support from local law enforcement, committed educators, and an engaged student body, the Kothagudem Anti-Drugs Awareness movement is fast becoming a beacon for community-led prevention across Telangana.
