Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, accompanied by Minister for Transport Ponnam Prabhakar, bid farewell to Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Begumpet airport after his two-day visit to Telangana. During the meeting, the Chief Minister submitted a wishlist to the Prime Minister, seeking the Centre’s assistance in various developmental projects aimed at enhancing the state’s infrastructure and improving living standards for its residents.
One of the key requests made by the Telangana government was for assistance in increasing electricity production to match the proposed installed capacity of 4,000 MW at the NTPC thermal power unit, which currently produces only 1,600 MW. Additionally, the government sought support for the expansion of the Hyderabad Metro, the cleansing and development of the Musi riverfront, and facilitation of the Tummadihatti project in Maharashtra.
Furthermore, the Telangana Government requested a review of the IPS cadre strength in the State, highlighting the need for additional posts due to district reorganization. The Government also thanked the Centre for approving various projects such as the Hyderabad-Ramagundam and Hyderabad-Nagpur elevated corridors and demanded land for construction of the Kesavapuram reservoir and other projects.
Expressing gratitude for previous approvals, the Telangana government also demanded land allocation for various infrastructure projects, establishment of an Indian Institute of Management in Hyderabad, and release of funds under the National Health Mission. Additionally, they pushed for the acceleration of several road projects under the Bharat Mala Pariyojana and proposed the establishment of a Semiconductor and display manufacturing unit in the state to bolster industrial growth.
