Mystery Surrounds Headless Body Found in Karimnagar
Headless Body of Missing Diploma Student Found in Karimnagar
The unsettling discovery of a headless body in an agricultural well on the outskirts of Thimmapur has cast a veil of mystery over the community of Karimnagar. Identified as Ganti Abhilash, a 20-year-old diploma student, the highly decomposed remains were found 26 days after his initial disappearance on March 1.
Abhilash, a resident of Damerakunta in the Kataram mandal of Jayashankar-Bhupalpally district, was pursuing his first year of diploma studies at a private engineering college. He resided in a hostel in Thimmapur, a suburb of Karimnagar town.
The distressing news of Abhilash’s disappearance prompted the college management to notify his family. Following futile attempts to locate him through inquiries with relatives and well-wishers, Abhilash’s parents filed a formal complaint with the LMD police on March 3.
The narrative took a chilling turn on Wednesday evening when a woman from Alugunur made a harrowing call to emergency services, expressing her intent to commit suicide by jumping into an agricultural well near Thimmapur. Responding swiftly, the LMD police mobilized a search operation while alerting the woman’s family.
During the search for the distressed woman, relatives stumbled upon another body submerged in an agricultural well, prompting immediate police notification.
The subsequent retrieval of the highly decomposed body from the well deepened the perplexity of the situation. Identification of the remains was made possible through the discovery of a mobile phone and clothing, which Abhilash’s parents confirmed belonged to him.
With the investigation underway, authorities are now faced with the daunting task of uncovering the circumstances surrounding Abhilash’s untimely demise. A search for his missing head was initiated on Thursday, involving the meticulous process of pumping water from the well. As the community grapples with shock and sorrow, unanswered questions linger, intensifying the enigma surrounding this tragic event.
