- Hyderabad Software Professional Found Dead in Alleged Suicide, Dowry Harassment Suspected
Hyderabad Woman’s Death Investigated for Dowry Harassment Allegations
Alleged Abuse and Financial Demands in Devika’s Marriage
A 26-year-old software professional was found dead at her home in Hyderabad on Monday, with police investigating the circumstances surrounding her death, including a possible dowry harassment angle. The woman, identified as K Devika, is suspected to have died by suicide following a dispute with her husband, Satish Chandra, whom she married six months ago.
According to the Raidurgam police, Devika locked herself in her room after an argument with Satish on Sunday night. Satish reportedly left the house and returned late at night, only to find his wife unresponsive the next morning. He immediately alerted the neighbors and Devika’s mother, Ramalakshmi, who subsequently filed a complaint with the police.
In her complaint, Ramalakshmi alleged that her daughter had been subjected to constant physical and emotional abuse by Satish, who reportedly harassed her for financial gain. She claimed that Satish had demanded that Devika transfer the ownership of a piece of land in Vikarabad and her apartment to his name. Ramalakshmi also raised suspicions about how Satish could have been unaware of the situation unfolding in the next room.

The police confirmed that no suicide note was found at the scene, and they are exploring all possible angles, including the dowry harassment claims. Devika and Satish had both worked at the same company in Bengaluru before relocating to Hyderabad. According to the police, the couple had frequently fought over trivial issues, which may have contributed to a strained relationship.
The investigation is still ongoing, and authorities are working to determine the exact cause of Devika’s death.
