An early morning sewage overflow near the popular Café Bahar on Hyderguda Main Road caused traffic disruptions and inconvenience to commuters on Saturday.
The incident, caused by a massive underground blockage, led to foul odor and pooling water across the stretch, especially affecting peak morning travel hours. However, teams from the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) arrived swiftly and deployed air-tech machinery to clear the clog and restore traffic flow.
Footage shared by locals showed workers actively using high-pressure jetting machines to break the blockage, with normalcy returning by late morning.
“The team came within an hour of the complaint. They worked fast and ensured the road was clear quickly,” said a shopkeeper near the scene.
While the swift response has been appreciated, citizens and civic groups have raised concerns over recurring sewage issues in central areas like Hyderguda, calling for long-term drainage upgrades rather than patchwork solutions.
