As part of his official tour in Jagtial district, a visit to Jai Bhim Nagar in Jagtial town turned into a heartwarming moment as officials were welcomed by Dalit Bandhu Scheme beneficiary, Nakka Gangadhar. Known locally as “Jagtial KCR” for his deep admiration and symbolic replication of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, Gangadhar expressed his sincere gratitude for the transformative role the Dalit Bandhu scheme has played in his life.
District officials, accompanied by members of the public and local leaders, visited the unique tent house constructed by Gangadhar as a tribute to KCR. The symbolic gesture represents the hope and aspirations of many beneficiaries who have been positively impacted by Telangana’s flagship welfare scheme aimed at Dalit empowerment.
The Dalit Bandhu Scheme, launched to economically empower Dalit families, offers a one-time capital assistance of ₹10 lakhs per eligible family to start a business or invest in an income-generating activity. Jagtial district, with a significant Dalit population, has witnessed a positive uptick in small-scale entrepreneurship and community development due to this initiative.
District authorities appreciated Gangadhar’s spirit and the effective use of government funds. They reiterated the importance of such schemes in creating grassroots-level change and emphasized the need for proper implementation and awareness to reach all eligible families.
Local leaders accompanying the tour mentioned that Jai Bhim Nagar stands as a model for Dalit empowerment in the region. “This visit and Gangadhar’s story should be shared widely so that others can find inspiration and faith in the system,” a senior official remarked.
