Times End in Handcuffs: SOT Cracks Down on Illegal Pub Activity in Hyderabad, Four Youths Caught Using Ganja

In a major step toward keeping Hyderabad’s nightlife safe and drug-free, the Special Operations Team (SOT) launched surprise raids on two pubs — Club Ruff in Madhapur and Fruit House Pub in Gachibowli — late last night.
Authorities confirmed that four young individuals were taken into custody after they were found under the influence of ganja. Medical reports later confirmed the consumption, and cases have been filed under relevant sections of the NDPS Act.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of @dcpmadhapur_cyb, who emphasized that such crackdowns will continue as part of a broader campaign to curb drug abuse in Hyderabad’s pub and party scenes.
“We’re committed to enforcing the law and ensuring safe public spaces. This is about protecting our youth and our city,” said an official source.
The pubs in question are also being investigated for violations of operating norms, including unauthorized gatherings, lack of permits, and possible substance distribution. More arrests may follow as the investigation expands.
Citizens have praised the swift action by law enforcement, urging authorities to continue their zero-tolerance stance against narcotics in urban entertainment zones.
