A Familiar Path Polaris Dawn Mission

The original 2022 launch date of the Polaris Dawn mission had been scheduled multiple times. The mission was most recently postponed from July 31 to Aug. The delayed occurred after SpaceX’s rockets blew up in July citing official reasons that it happened due to traffic. Those activities resulted in some late-breaking tweaks to the manifest, according to Sarah Walker, director of SpaceX’s Dragon mission management during a press conference. We chose the Crew-9 mission to be our next flight and are ready to fly Polaris Dawn later this summer, once we complete those tasks.” Today her reference to “late summer” was clarified as August.

Space tourism is slowly but surely starting to happen, and private missions such as Polaris Dawn are helping pave the way. Isaacman’s historic private spacewalk is a major step toward opening up space for non-professional astronauts. The best indication of SpaceX’s ambition and dedication to advancing rocketry is its plethora of challenges, which stretch the bounds not only of what we’re used to doing in space but also those things that even daredevils would shy away from. The Polaris Dawn mission is a truly inspirational story of innovation and discovery.

Historic Spacewalk for Jared Isaacman

The newly announced flight leader for this mission will be Jared Isaacman, who went on an orbital holiday aboard a SpaceX rocket in 2021 as well. Not only will this mission carry him and his crew around the back of the moon, Isaacman would become history’s first space tourist to conduct a private extravehicular activity. Isaacman and his companions have been described as participating in a “ghost ride. The reenagers who are going will not go to International Space Station, but they wil reach much farther in the space and for the crew it is a surreal experience.
