Samajwadi Party Seeks Justice for Kaushambi Victim, Accuses BJP of Targeting Pal Community

Samajwadi Party Demands Justice for Kaushambi Victim, Blames BJP Government for Injustice

Lucknow, June 15, 2025 – In a strong political stand against the Kaushambi incident, the Samajwadi Party (SP) has launched a serious charge against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, demanding swift justice for the victim and compensation of ₹1 crore for the aggrieved family. At the heart of this growing political storm is a memorandum presented by an SP delegation to the party’s National President and former Chief Minister Shri Akhilesh Yadav at the party headquarters, 19, Vikramaditya Marg, Lucknow.

The delegation, composed of senior party leaders and district representatives, had visited Kaushambi to investigate the recent incident that sparked outrage across Uttar Pradesh. After gathering ground-level insights, the team met with Shri Akhilesh Yadav and submitted a comprehensive report on the situation. In the memorandum, the SP leaders stated that the Kaushambi episode is a matter of grave injustice and sorrow. They criticized the BJP government and Deputy Chief Minister for failing to protect citizens and accused them of escaping accountability.

“The Kaushambi incident is tragic. This is not just an administrative failure but a direct outcome of systemic oppression and targeted action against the Pal community,” the memorandum read.

Akhilesh Yadav, while addressing the media after the meeting, said, “This is not just about one victim. It is about the fear that is being instilled in marginalized communities. The Pal community is being deliberately targeted. Changing police officers is not a solution – it is a cover-up. The injustice done cannot be corrected unless the government acts transparently and fairly.”

He emphasized that the victim’s family is poor, landless, and earns a livelihood through agricultural labor. “Justice delayed is justice denied,” Yadav said. “Samajwadi Party is committed to standing by the victim’s family until justice is delivered.”

The delegation included prominent party leaders such as Mr. Rajarampal (former MP), Dr. Man Singh Yadav (MLC), Samarth Pal (State Secretary, SP), Daya Shankar Yadav (District President, SP), Dr. Avadh Nath Pal (Former District President, Jaunpur), Rakesh Baghel (Former District President, Panchayat, Agra), and Anshu Pal (District President, Lohia Vahini, Kannauj).

Their report mentioned systemic negligence and pointed fingers at the administrative machinery’s biased behavior. It highlighted that members of the Pal community were unfairly targeted in the aftermath of the incident. The delegation stressed the need for social justice and urged the government to release financial support of ₹1 crore to the victim’s family without further delay.

Speaking on the broader implications, Akhilesh Yadav said, “This case reflects a larger pattern. The BJP-led administration continues to sideline marginalized communities and suppress voices demanding justice. The Samajwadi Party will raise this issue in every forum, from the streets to the Assembly.”

The Chief Spokesperson of Samajwadi Party, Rajendra Choudhary, reiterated the party’s stance. He said that this memorandum is not just a request but a firm political demand backed by on-ground facts and community outrage. He warned the government of widespread protests if immediate action is not taken.

The incident in Kaushambi has already ignited a wave of unrest, with social organizations and civil rights groups expressing solidarity with the victim’s family. Social media platforms are witnessing a rising trend of posts under hashtags such as #JusticeForKaushambi and #StopTargetingPalCommunity.

Political analysts view this development as a potential turning point in Uttar Pradesh’s political landscape ahead of upcoming civic and state elections. The Samajwadi Party’s assertive stance, combined with grassroots outreach, could strengthen its connect with backward communities and marginalized groups.

Meanwhile, the BJP government has yet to release an official response to the memorandum. With mounting pressure from opposition parties and civil society, the coming days could see a significant political showdown.

As the situation unfolds, all eyes remain on the government’s next move. Will it act on the demands or further fuel the fire of unrest?

For now, the Samajwadi Party has made its position clear: “We are with the victim’s family – not just in words, but in action.”
