Caught Between Rain and Rock: 5 Students Rescued from Pandavkada Waterfall
Kharghar Hills, Navi Mumbai – A group of five students from Sion Koliwada narrowly escaped disaster on a monsoon trek near the Pandavkada Waterfall, after sudden rainfall caused a mountain stream to overflow, trapping them in the wilderness.
Breathtaking Turns Risky
The popular tourist trail turned treacherous when the rains hit unexpectedly. The cascading beauty of Pandavkada, nestled in the Kharghar Hills, is a monsoon magnet—but also a hotspot for accidents during heavy downpours.
Swift Rescue Operation
Rescue teams were quick to respond. With nylon ropes tied to the students’ waists, responders carefully navigated the flooded terrain and helped all five to safety. Thanks to their swift action, no injuries were reported.
💬 “We were terrified, but the rescue team knew exactly what to do,” said one of the students, visibly shaken but grateful.
A Wake-Up Call
This incident is a reminder of nature’s unpredictability—especially during the monsoon. Trekkers and tourists must respect weather alerts and avoid venturing into hilly or waterfall-prone areas during unstable conditions.
#SamayaJyothi urges responsible tourism and improved safety measures at all natural sites, including:
Pre-monsoon barricades near high-risk zones
Real-time weather alert signage
Trained guides and rescue teams on-site
Let every adventure be safe. Nature’s beauty should inspire, not endanger.
