The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced a cash reward of ₹10 lakh for information about the suspected bomber in the Rameshwaram Cafe blast case in Bengaluru. The blast, which occurred at the popular eatery on March 1, left nine people injured, including seven customers.
According to the cafe owners, the explosion was caused by a customer who placed a bag containing the IED. A CCTV video of the incident showed an explosion, followed by smoke and panic-stricken customers fleeing the scene.
Following the blast, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated that investigations were ongoing to ascertain the cause and nature of the explosion, suggesting it might have been caused by an IED. He revealed that a masked man had arrived by bus, purchased food from the cafe, set a timer, and left. Siddaramaiah urged against politicizing the incident and called for cooperation from the public. He assured that strict action would be taken against those involved.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) serves as a specialized investigative body for cases related to terrorism. Established in 2008 in response to the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, the agency focuses on probing such incidents.
