MLC Kavitha Launches ‘Singareni Jagruthi’ – A New Front for Coal Workers’ Rights

Telangana, India – In a major political and social move, MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha officially launched ‘Singareni Jagruthi’, a dedicated platform committed to coal worker welfare, youth empowerment, and Bahujan representation in the Singareni coal belt.

With an organizational structure spread across all 11 areas of Singareni, coordinators have been appointed to work in close coordination with TBGKS (Telangana Boggu Gani Karmika Sangham). The goal is to prioritize dependent jobs, protect worker rights, and provide a unified voice for the coal worker community.

Kavitha launched a scathing attack on the Congress-led Telangana government, accusing it of sabotaging Singareni through systemic corruption and remaining silent on the Modi government’s anti-labour codes that threaten the very fabric of worker security in India.

She also raised the alarm on the ‘alias names issue’, which has long jeopardized the job security of thousands of coal workers, urging for immediate and transparent action.

"Every Miner’s Sweat Fuels the State"

Singareni Jagruthi, according to Kavitha, will be a powerful voice for every coal miner, ensuring their dignity, jobs, and rights are protected against corporate exploitation and governmental apathy.

“We will stand tall with the coal workers—because every miner’s sweat fuels the state,” she asserted.

The launch of Singareni Jagruthi marks a significant milestone in the political narrative of worker rights in Telangana and sets the tone for a grassroots movement in defense of India’s backbone—the labor force.
