Mumbra, Maharashtra: In a devastating turn of events, five passengers lost their lives and several others were seriously injured after falling from an overcrowded Mumbai suburban train near Mumbra on Monday. The tragedy has once again shed light on the perils of daily overcrowding in the city’s heavily used railway network.

According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred during peak hours when the train was packed beyond capacity.
