BRS to Protest for BC Reservation at Indira Park, Hyderabad
In a move to press for greater representation and rights for the backward classes (BCs), the Telangana Jagruthi, led by BRS party MLC K Kavitha, is set to stage a significant protest at Indira Park on Friday, January 3. The demonstration is aimed at demanding the implementation of the Congress party’s Kamareddy BC Declaration and the enforcement of a 42% reservation for BCs in local body elections across the state.
The upcoming BC Mahasabha, a mass gathering organized by the Telangana Jagruthi, will focus on calling for an overhaul of the existing reservation system in local elections to ensure that BCs receive a fair share of political representation and opportunities. The meeting will also mark the birth anniversary of the iconic social reformer Savitribai Phule, a symbol of empowerment for marginalized communities, making it a day of celebration and protest for BC rights in Telangana.
Kavitha, who holds the post of president in Telangana Jagruthi, recently released the BC Mahasabha poster to generate awareness and mobilize supporters. The gathering will take place at Indira Park, which has long been a venue for major political demonstrations and public rallies.
