Revanth Reddy Vows Full Government Support to Make Hyderabad the Next Hollywood-Bollywood Powerhouse

Hyderabad, Telangana:
In a landmark announcement, Chief Minister Shri Revanth Reddy affirmed that the Telangana government is committed to transforming Hyderabad into a global cinematic powerhouse, on par with Hollywood and Bollywood. This declaration was made in the context of the prestigious “Telangana Gaddar Film Awards – 2024” held recently in Hyderabad, signaling a renewed focus on the state’s film industry as part of its “Vision 2047” strategy.

The event, hosted at the city’s high-tech cultural hub, witnessed the presence of several political and industry heavyweights, including Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, and Film Development Corporation (FDC) Chairman and acclaimed producer Dil Raju. The awards ceremony celebrated a decade of cinematic excellence and honored individuals who significantly contributed to Telugu cinema from 2014 to 2024.

Addressing the audience, CM Revanth Reddy stated, “The government is prepared to provide every form of support to elevate Hyderabad’s status in global cinema. We are actively working towards establishing Telangana as a $3 trillion economy by 2047, and the film industry will play a vital role in this transformation. The industry must not only be seen as a cultural asset but also as a powerful economic driver.”

The Chief Minister emphasized the inclusion of a dedicated chapter for the film industry in the state’s 2047 Vision Document. This section will outline key targets and structural plans aimed at propelling the growth of the industry in the next two decades. He invited industry professionals to collaborate with the government in drafting actionable strategies that foster both artistic and commercial growth.

“We are open to suggestions,” the CM said. “Whether you’re a producer, director, actor, or technician, your voice matters. The government is here to enable, not interfere. Telangana offers a business-friendly environment, and our ambition is to make it a hub for not just Indian, but international filmmaking.”

Dil Raju, who played a significant role in conceptualizing the awards, stressed the need to reinstate and celebrate Telugu cinema’s legacy. “The awards, initially launched in 1964, were halted after 2014. It is a proud moment to bring them back and honor those who have shown extraordinary talent and resilience over the last decade.”

Deputy CM Bhatti Mallu expressed optimism about the future of the Telugu film industry. “Our government is inspired by the transformative potential of cinema. We believe that with the right support and vision, Hyderabad can become a global leader in the entertainment sector. We are laying the foundation today for a brighter cinematic future tomorrow.”

The Telangana Gaddar Film Awards not only celebrated past achievements but also hinted at an evolving future. The government has hinted at multiple incentives, including infrastructure development, film tourism initiatives, single-window clearances for shoots, subsidies for regional and international co-productions, and dedicated zones for post-production.

Minister Komatireddy KVR highlighted the holistic nature of the government’s support. “We want to ensure that every stakeholder, from big studios to independent filmmakers, benefits from our film-friendly policies. This is not just about economic development; it’s about cultural leadership and national pride.”

The CM concluded his address with a powerful call to action. “Art and culture are at the heart of Telangana’s identity. Let us work together to ensure that our state not only participates in but leads the evolution of cinema globally. Telangana’s development must include and reflect its rich artistic heritage.”

As Telangana sets its sights on 2047, the synergy between the government and the film industry appears more vital than ever. With a clear roadmap, renewed policy focus, and strong leadership, Hyderabad is poised to emerge as a global cinematic capital — a beacon of creativity, innovation, and economic vitality.
