Illegal Clinic Busted in Armoor: Telangana DCA Cracks Down on Unauthorized Medical Practice
Nizamabad, May 24, 2025 — The Telangana Drugs Control Administration (DCA) on Friday conducted a surprise raid in Armoor, Nizamabad district, uncovering an illegal medical setup run by an unqualified practitioner. The clinic, operated by Kali Jugal Roy, was found in violation of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, lacking a valid drug license.
During the inspection, officials seized 14 different types of medicines, including Dexamethasone, a powerful corticosteroid, totaling an estimated market value of ₹17,000. The raid was conducted by Drugs Inspector R. Srilatha, under the supervision of Assistant Director N. Narasiah.
The illegal possession and distribution of prescription medicines by unqualified individuals is a serious threat to public health, risking misdiagnosis, overdose, and long-term health complications.
This operation is part of the Telangana DCA’s aggressive drive to shut down illegal healthcare operations across the state. Since January 2024, the DCA has booked 164 such cases, underscoring the urgent need to cleanse the healthcare system of unauthorized and dangerous practices.
“We urge citizens to stay vigilant and avoid unlicensed clinics,” said a DCA spokesperson. “Every report helps protect our communities from unsafe and illegal treatments.”
