Helicopter Carrying Pilgrims to Kedarnath Makes Emergency Landing Near Guptkashi; All Safe
Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand: A private helicopter operated by Krestel Aviation Pvt. Ltd., carrying pilgrims to Kedarnath Dham, made a precautionary emergency landing near Guptkashi on Monday due to a technical snag. The helicopter was en route from Sirsi when the issue was detected mid-flight.
The pilot acted swiftly, making a safe landing on a road near Guptkashi in Rudraprayag district, ensuring that all passengers remained unharmed. There were no injuries reported, and the situation was handled with professionalism and care.
Officials from UCADA (Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority) and DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) have been notified, and an investigation into the technical fault is expected.
“We commend the pilot’s quick response, which prevented any harm and ensured passenger safety,” a UCADA official said.
Despite the incident, shuttle services to Kedarnath continue as scheduled, and authorities have confirmed that all safety protocols remain in place.
