Historic BRS Rally in Dallas Unites NRIs for Telangana Formation Day and Party's 25-Year Milestone

Dallas, USA – June 10, 2025BRS holds largest political rally on US soil, marking a historic moment in both Indian-American political engagement and the celebration of Telangana’s identity abroad. The grand event, organized in Dallas, Texas, brought together thousands of Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) from across the United States to commemorate the dual occasion of Telangana Formation Day and the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Silver Jubilee.

This unprecedented rally, touted as the largest ever held by an Indian political party on American soil, became a cultural and political phenomenon. The event not only showcased the global support for BRS and its leadership under K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) but also underlined the deep emotional connection NRIs still share with their homeland.

The rally began with a traditional welcome that included Telangana folk dances, dappu beats, and floral tributes. American citizens, Indian expatriates, and first-generation Telugu youth gathered in impressive numbers, waving the pink flags of BRS and singing patriotic Telangana songs.

Participants came from California, New Jersey, Illinois, Georgia, Florida, and as far as Alaska to take part in the momentous rally. Many said they traveled with their families, not just for political support, but to pass on cultural pride to their children.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” said Ravi Goud from New Jersey. “We wanted our kids to witness the legacy of KCR garu and understand how Telangana was formed after decades of struggle.”

Tribute to Telangana and BRS Journey

The event was rich with references to the sacrifices made during the Telangana movement. A special tribute was paid to the lives lost in the fight for statehood. Video montages narrated the BRS journey from its inception in 2001 as the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), through its transformation into BRS and its influence on Indian national politics.

KCR, who addressed the crowd via live broadcast, thanked the NRIs for their unwavering support. He emphasized the role of global Telangana communities in preserving the language, culture, and pride of the state.

“We are proud of our people in the diaspora,” KCR said. “You are Telangana’s voice abroad. Let’s continue to work together for a progressive, inclusive India.”

Canadian and Mexican Responses

Spotlight on Samaya Jyothi

An emotional highlight of the rally was the symbolic lighting of “Samaya Jyothi”, a torch representing the spirit of time, transformation, and Telangana pride. The flame, brought ceremonially from India, was lit by elders from the first generation of immigrants, symbolizing the bridge between generations and geographies.

“Samaya Jyothi is more than a flame—it is a promise to stay connected to our roots,” said Prathima Rao, one of the event organizers. “It unites time, memory, and the mission of the Telangana people.”

Cultural Performances and Youth Engagement

A major portion of the celebration was devoted to cultural programs by youth associations, including dance performances, poetry, and dramatizations of Telangana history. Youth speakers emphasized how BRS policies in Telangana had positively impacted education and employment, motivating them to contribute intellectually and economically.

Panels were also organized on “Next Generation Telugu Leadership in America,” with active participation from student leaders and professionals working in tech, finance, and medicine.

BRS’s Vision Beyond Borders

The rally also emphasized BRS’s expanding global outreach. With the party’s transformation into Bharat Rashtra Samithi, its goal is now aligned with national politics beyond Telangana. NRI leaders announced the establishment of the “BRS Global Chapter” to continue diaspora engagement in democratic processes back home.

As a strategic move, BRS also plans to initiate NRI policy cells that will cater to the needs of overseas Indians and ensure their voices are heard in future legislative matters.

A Historic Milestone

The Dallas rally wasn’t just a celebration—it was a declaration. A declaration that Telangana’s heartbeat echoes globally and that BRS is evolving into a movement with international dimensions. With its massive turnout and emotional resonance, the event marked a new chapter in the history of Indian diaspora political engagement.

The event concluded with a collective singing of “Jaya Jaya He Telangana,” followed by a fireworks display illuminating the Dallas skyline in pink and white—the colors of the BRS flag.
