No Curtain Drop: Dil Raju Quashes Theatre Shutdown Rumors, Defends Pawan Kalyan's Film Rights

Hyderabad, Telangana – Prominent Tollywood producer and Telangana Film Development Corporation (FDC) Chairman, Dil Raju, has categorically denied ongoing rumors regarding a theatre shutdown in Telangana from June 1.

Speaking to the press, he called the speculation “media-driven and baseless,” asserting that there is “no unity or official consensus” within the industry to halt theatrical screenings. “There’s been no formal meeting or collective decision. Theatres will remain open,” Raju clarified.

Amid ongoing tensions in the film fraternity, he also voiced his strong support for actor-politician Pawan Kalyan, whose upcoming film has been the subject of heated debates and rumors of suppression.

“No one has the authority to stop Pawan Kalyan’s film. Everyone deserves a fair theatrical release,” he stated firmly.

Miscommunication, Not Mutiny:

Raju also hinted at miscommunication between the film industry and authorities, but reassured audiences that the issues are being resolved amicably. He urged the public to rely on official announcements, not social media hearsay or unverified news reports.

Takeaway:

With his statement, Dil Raju has brought much-needed clarity and calm to an industry rattled by rumors. The message is clear: Telugu cinema will continue without interruption, and freedom of expression remains intact.
