The Citizens Co-operative Bank Officer’s Association (CCBOA) has appealed to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to consider the restructuring of urban cooperative banks in the Union Territory. This request was made during a meeting held by the Association today.
During the meeting, Association members expressed their appreciation for the launch of the National Urban Cooperative Finance and Development Corporation Limited (NUCFDCL) by Union Minister for Cooperatives, Amit Shah. They believe that this initiative will be a landmark decision for the development and survival of urban cooperative banks.
Given the challenges faced by urban cooperative banks in Jammu and Kashmir due to years of militancy and political instability, the Association urged the J&K Government, led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, to take necessary steps for the restructuring and development of all urban cooperative banks in the region. The Association has been actively representing this cause before the administration.
The meeting was chaired by Sonal Mehta and attended by members including Rash Pal Singh, Shakti Dutt Sharma, Sangeet Mishra, Vivek Gupta, Navdeepak Baloria, and Mohinder Gupta.
