Historic UP Police Appointment Drive | 60,244 Constables Join Force

Amit Shah and Yogi Adityanath Distribute Appointment Letters to Over 60,000 New UP Police Constables in Lucknow

In a landmark event showcasing the commitment of the Uttar Pradesh government to strengthening law enforcement and empowering youth, 60,244 constables of the civil police received their appointment letters today in Lucknow. This marks the largest police recruitment drive in the history of the Uttar Pradesh Police Department.

The appointment ceremony was graced by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah, who handed over the appointment letters to the selected candidates. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also attended the ceremony, lending his support and congratulations to the newly appointed officers.

Speaking at the grand occasion, Amit Shah praised the progress of the Uttar Pradesh Police under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath, stating that the police force is now on the path to achieving new heights of excellence. “This massive recruitment drive not only enhances the strength of the police force but also reflects the transparency and efficiency in the governance of Uttar Pradesh,” said the Home Minister.

He further emphasized that the recruitment was conducted in a fair and transparent manner, ensuring merit-based appointments without any bias or discrimination. “This is how a government should work — putting the youth at the center of development,” Shah added.

The newly appointed constables will be inducted across various police stations and units within the state, aiming to further improve law and order and reduce response time for criminal and emergency incidents. The increased manpower is expected to boost public confidence in the police force and strengthen grassroots policing.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in his address, highlighted the achievements of the double engine government over the past eight years. “More than 8.50 lakh government jobs have been provided to the youth of Uttar Pradesh in a clean, fair, and merit-driven manner,” said the Chief Minister. “Every recruitment process, including this one, is a testimony to our commitment to good governance and transparency.”

He also reiterated the government’s vision for transforming Uttar Pradesh into a model state in terms of safety, employment, and development. “We are committed to ensuring that every youth has access to dignified employment, and today’s appointment of over 60,000 constables is a major step in that direction,” Yogi Adityanath said.

The Chief Minister praised the efficiency of the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB), which conducted the recruitment examination and selection process. With lakhs of candidates applying from across the state, this massive recruitment required meticulous planning and flawless execution.

Family members and friends of the newly appointed constables celebrated the occasion with great joy. Many candidates expressed their gratitude to the government for providing them with this opportunity to serve the nation. “I am proud to be a part of the UP Police now. It is a dream come true,” said one of the newly inducted officers.

This development is being seen as a pivotal moment in the efforts to improve policing standards in the state. Analysts believe that the recruitment will help in reducing the existing workload on police personnel, thereby improving service quality and morale across the force.

Observers also noted that this move aligns with the central government’s broader policy of modernizing the police force, enhancing citizen safety, and promoting employment.

As the youth of Uttar Pradesh step forward in uniform to serve and protect, today’s event stands as a shining example of the transformative impact of governance that prioritizes merit, efficiency, and public service.
