Samaya Jyothi: Collector Chairs Public Meeting, Ensures Swift Action on Citizen Complaints

In a proactive move aimed at strengthening administrative responsiveness, District Collector Rajarshi Shah, in coordination with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Jangaon, organized a comprehensive public meeting at the District Collectorate to address public grievances and assess government program implementation. The initiative, aligned with the ethos of Samaya Jyothi—a campaign emphasizing timely public service delivery—witnessed an encouraging turnout from citizens across the district.

During the meeting, the Collector personally received numerous petitions from citizens on issues ranging from land disputes, welfare benefits, public health concerns, and civic infrastructure. The event provided a platform for people to voice their concerns directly to the district leadership, reflecting a transparent and people-first governance model.

District Collector Shah emphasized the importance of swift grievance redressal and directed all departmental officials present to ensure each application was processed within the stipulated timeframe. He stated, “People come here with hope. It is our duty to honor their trust with timely action and resolution.” The Collector reiterated the need for accountability and empathy in governance, encouraging officers to follow up on all cases until logical closure.

ACB Jangaon officers were also present at the event, reflecting the administration’s commitment to a corruption-free and responsive system. Their presence served as a deterrent to malpractices and boosted public confidence in the fairness of the grievance redressal process.

Following the grievance session, the Collector convened a review meeting with district officials to evaluate the progress of key government initiatives. These included the implementation status of welfare schemes such as Dalit Bandhu, Aasara pensions, Rythu Bandhu, and Mission Bhagiratha. The Collector highlighted that many of these flagship programs are designed to uplift marginalized sections and therefore require timely and efficient execution.

He instructed officials to update progress reports regularly and resolve bottlenecks without delay. Departments were reminded to coordinate effectively, and ensure that resources are utilized judiciously. He also stressed the importance of field inspections and community interaction to verify the real-time status of program delivery.

The Collector also reviewed infrastructure development projects, including rural roads, drinking water supply systems, and educational institutions. He urged the engineering departments to maintain quality standards and adhere to completion timelines, reiterating that the government has placed high priority on building lasting public assets.

The Samaya Jyothi initiative has been pivotal in transforming the way public service is delivered in the district. With its core philosophy centered on timeliness, transparency, and trust, the initiative is bringing governance closer to the people. By hosting such public meetings and follow-up reviews, the administration is reinforcing a citizen-centric model that ensures grievances are not only heard but acted upon.

During the meeting, several citizens appreciated the Collector’s approachability and prompt directives. One petitioner, Lakshmaiah from Lingala village, said, “For the first time, I was able to hand over my application directly to the Collector and received immediate assurance. It feels like our voices matter.”

The district administration plans to conduct these interactive sessions regularly to improve governance efficiency and monitor government schemes on the ground. The Collector concluded the event by thanking the public for their participation and urged all departments to uphold the principles of Samaya Jyothi in every facet of their work.

This ongoing commitment to prompt redressal and participatory governance is expected to bring about significant administrative reforms and increase public satisfaction. The emphasis on timely delivery of services is not only improving trust in government institutions but also setting a benchmark for districts across the state.
