New Delhi, June 16 (Samaya Jyothi): In a distinguished ceremony that underscored the values of service, dedication, and excellence, President Droupadi Murmu presented the prestigious Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM) to three outstanding officers of the Indian Armed Forces. The recipients included Air Marshal Chakalayil Rajappa Mohan (Retired) from the Aeronautical Engineering (Electronics) branch, Air Marshal Rajesh Kumar Anand (Retired) from Administration and Air Traffic Control, and Brigadier Sanjay Kumar Mishra of the Army Medical Corps.

The award ceremony was held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in the presence of senior defense officials, dignitaries, and family members of the awardees. The Param Vishisht Seva Medal is one of the highest peacetime military decorations in India, awarded for distinguished service of the most exceptional order to officers of the Armed Forces.

A Tribute to Decades of Service and Dedication

Air Marshal Chakalayil Rajappa Mohan, an eminent figure in the field of Aeronautical Engineering, rendered decades of invaluable service to the Indian Air Force. Known for his strategic leadership in aircraft systems and avionics modernization, he played a pivotal role in enhancing operational readiness across various squadrons. Under his guidance, several critical technological integrations were successfully implemented, contributing to India’s aerospace self-reliance initiatives.

Equally commendable was the contribution of Air Marshal Rajesh Kumar Anand, a trailblazer in Administration and Air Traffic Control. With an extensive career marked by integrity and excellence, he was instrumental in redefining administrative frameworks across IAF bases. His exceptional ability to manage high-pressure environments in both peacetime and crisis operations earned him recognition not just within the Air Force but across the broader defense establishment.

Brigadier Sanjay Kumar Mishra of the Army Medical Corps was honored for his exemplary medical service in some of the most challenging terrains and conflict zones. Known for his innovative approach to combat medicine, Brigadier Mishra has been a crucial part of initiatives aimed at improving healthcare delivery for soldiers posted in remote and high-altitude areas. His leadership during pandemic response operations further underlined his commitment to duty.

National Recognition of Military Excellence

President Droupadi Murmu, in her address, emphasized the importance of honoring such individuals who go beyond the call of duty in service to the nation. She remarked, “These medals are not just symbols of honor but affirmations of the extraordinary dedication shown by our men and women in uniform.
