Pawsitively Heartwarming: Nalgonda Bhavitha Centres Launch Inclusive Support for Special Needs Children
Nalgonda, Telangana — July 9, 2025
In a groundbreaking and compassionate initiative, 33 Bhavitha Centres across Nalgonda district have embraced a child-first, evidence-based approach to supporting children with special needs — especially those on the autism spectrum.
The highlight? Therapy dogs, calming music, and thoughtfully designed sensory games are now part of the classroom experience — offering comfort, engagement, and emotional support to children who often struggle with traditional environments.
Therapy Meets Education
These therapy dogs, trained to work gently around children, were introduced with the guidance of veterinarians and developmental experts, ensuring both safety and psychological benefit.
“This is not just about education; it’s about creating joy, calm, and connection for every child,” said an official from the District Education Office.
Leadership That Cares
The initiative is the brainchild of District Collector Ila Tripathi IAS, who collaborated with educators, healthcare professionals, and local experts to pioneer this model.
Under her leadership, Nalgonda is becoming a model district for inclusive and compassionate education in India.
“Every child deserves a space where they can feel safe, engaged, and happy,” said Collector Tripathi.
