Kavitha Launches Scathing Attack on Revanth Reddy, Demands White Paper on State’s Finances and Corruption Allegations

Kavitha Launches Scathing Attack on Revanth Reddy, Demands White Paper on State’s Finances and Corruption Allegations

Kavitha Slams Revanth Reddy in Explosive Press Meet Over ₹2 Lakh Crore Loan Mismanagement

In a blistering press meet that sent political shockwaves across Telangana, MLC K. Kavitha strongly slammed Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of pushing the state into a debt trap by borrowing a whopping ₹2 lakh crore within just 18 months of governance. The senior BRS leader did not hold back as she raised serious allegations of financial mismanagement, corruption, and failure in implementing welfare schemes.

Kavitha began the press conference by congratulating CM Revanth Reddy in a sarcastic tone for what she described as a historic borrowing spree. “Congratulations to Revanth Reddy for taking loans worth ₹2 lakh crores in just one and a half years. It’s a world record,” she remarked.

No Welfare Despite Huge Loans

Kavitha raised a critical point — despite massive borrowings, essential schemes like pensions and the Mahalakshmi scheme have not been implemented. “What has this government done with all that money? Neither are the pensions being disbursed, nor is the Mahalakshmi scheme being rolled out. The people of Telangana are paying the price,” she said

REC’s Warning and Government Defaults

She drew comparisons with the previous KCR-led government, pointing out that loans taken during KCR’s tenure were used for developmental projects and were repaid on time. “Even REC (Rural Electrification Corporation) gave an A-grade rating to the KCR government. Now, REC has written multiple letters to this new government for pending dues,” Kavitha stated.

According to her, the REC demanded a payment of ₹1320 crore by June 28, 2025. “Failing to pay will result in Telangana being declared a loan defaulter. That’s how bad the financial situation has become,” she warned.

Corruption in Irrigation Projects

The most serious allegation came when she accused CM Revanth Reddy of corruption in the Kodangal Lift Irrigation project. She claimed that companies linked to political interests, including Ponguleti and Mega group, were awarded contracts and advances were released even before the work began.

“We are officially conferring the title of ‘Corruption Emperor’ on Revanth Reddy,” Kavitha declared, announcing that Jagriti will publish and distribute a corruption report booklet on Revanth Reddy’s alleged scams across the state.

Demand for Transparency: Release a White Paper

Calling for transparency, Kavitha demanded that the CM release a white paper detailing where the ₹2 lakh crore has gone. “If there is nothing to hide, then why fear a white paper? The public deserves to know the financial health of their state,” she asserted.

BJP MPs Silent on Polavaram & Bhadrachalam

Taking aim at the BJP, Kavitha expressed dismay that the Polavaram project was removed from the Central Pragati agenda, while the people of Bhadrachalam continue to suffer. “Even as Lord Ram in Bhadrachalam submerges, the eight BJP MPs from Telangana remain silent. What are they doing for the people?” she asked.

Kavitha also reiterated her demand that five gram panchayats near Bhadrachalam be merged into Telangana for better administrative support and cultural integration.

The Banakacharla Controversy

Further exposing inter-state political maneuvering, Kavitha alleged that the Banakacharla project was fast-tracked only after a secretive meeting between Revanth Reddy and Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu. “It is being constructed solely to benefit the Mega company,” she stated, adding that Andhra intellectuals themselves are opposing the project.

She asserted that former CM KCR would never allow any move that harms Telangana’s interests, contrasting it with Revanth Reddy’s alleged fear of speaking up against Chandrababu Naidu.

Countdown to a Year of Telugu CMs’ Inaction

Kavitha reminded that July 6 will mark one year since the CMs of Telugu states met, and yet not a single resolution from that meeting has been implemented. “Revanth Reddy talks big but delivers little. His silence on Banakacharla shows where his loyalties lie,” she said.

Strong Conclusion

Kavitha’s press meet has ignited a political storm, with opposition parties rallying behind her demand for a white paper. She emphasized that the state cannot afford financial secrecy, political favoritism, and corruption anymore.

“We are watching. Telangana’s people are watching. If this continues, we will expose every hidden deal, every missing rupee, and every broken promise,” Kavitha concluded.

With state politics heating up, Kavitha Slams Revanth Reddy has become more than a slogan — it’s turning into a movement
