International Yoga Day 2025: CM Naidu's Record-Breaking Vision for Visakhapatnam

International Yoga Day 2025 will be nothing short of historic in Andhra Pradesh, as Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Nara Chandrababu Naidu has unveiled an ambitious plan for the celebrations in Visakhapatnam. With a goal to break two Guinness World Records and a total of 22 world records, the Chief Minister has urged officials, citizens, and yoga enthusiasts alike to participate in what promises to be one of the grandest and most inspiring yoga events ever held in India.

A Grand Call from the Visionary Leader

During a high-level meeting with officials and wellness coordinators, CM N. Chandrababu Naidu emphasized the significance of hosting a mega-scale International Yoga Day 2025 event. “Yoga is India’s timeless gift to the world. It promotes physical strength, mental peace, and spiritual well-being. Let us showcase our commitment by achieving global recognition through record-breaking participation,” said Naidu.

Visakhapatnam Set to Make History

The city of Visakhapatnam, fondly referred to as the “Jewel of the East Coast,” is being transformed into a spiritual and wellness hub for this year’s Yoga Day. CM Naidu has instructed local authorities to ensure meticulous planning for the event on June 21, including infrastructure, safety protocols, transportation, and hospitality for thousands of expected attendees.

The state administration is coordinating with wellness organizations, yoga instructors, and cultural groups across the state and nation to curate an awe-inspiring program. It will feature synchronized yoga performances, traditional chants, wellness workshops, and interactive health sessions designed to inspire people of all age groups.

Target: 2 Guinness Records and 22 World Records

Andhra Pradesh is aiming high, with the Chief Minister clarifying that the event’s main objective is not just participation, but creating history.

The ambitious targets include:

  • The largest synchronized yoga session in a single venue.

  • Longest continuous yoga session by a community group.

  • Most nationalities participating in a single yoga session.

  • Various yoga-related feats in strength, flexibility, and endurance.

According to event organizers, official record adjudicators from Guinness and other global record agencies have been invited to verify and certify the event in real-time.

Youth and School Participation Encouraged

To ensure maximum involvement, schools and colleges across the state are being mobilized to take part in this initiative. Thousands of students are being trained by certified yoga instructors under a state-wide campaign called “Yoga for Unity, Yoga for Humanity.”

The Chief Minister also directed the Education and Youth Welfare departments to issue circulars encouraging student participation and volunteer support during the event

Health, Culture, and Global Recognition

The Yoga Day celebration is not just about records. It is a statement about the cultural richness and commitment of India to holistic health. CM Naidu stressed that such a large-scale event will place Andhra Pradesh firmly on the world map for wellness tourism and cultural diplomacy.

“Let Visakhapatnam become the global capital of yoga on June 21,” he said. “This is not only about creating records but creating a legacy for the future generations.”

Preparations in Full Swing

Local authorities have reported that preparations are already in motion. Beachfronts, stadiums, and open grounds in Visakhapatnam are being prepped to accommodate the massive crowds expected. Public awareness campaigns have begun on television, radio, social media, and local community groups to ensure maximum visibility.

Additionally, state-run transport corporations are planning special services to facilitate travel from rural and remote areas. Medical teams, hydration stations, and multilingual guides will be deployed across the event zones.

Collaboration with Wellness and Yoga Gurus

Prominent yoga masters and wellness influencers from India and abroad have been invited to participate. The idea is to bring spiritual depth along with scale. Workshops, lectures, and interactive sessions will be conducted throughout the day, highlighting the science of yoga and its global relevance in today’s fast-paced world.

Special guests from countries such as the USA, Japan, France, Australia, and Nepal have expressed interest in attending, adding an international dimension to the event.

Local Economy to Get a Boost

While the focus is on yoga and well-being, the event is expected to boost the local economy, especially hospitality, tourism, food, and retail sectors. Hotels in Visakhapatnam are reporting increased bookings for the week leading up to June 21. Vendors are preparing wellness-focused products, organic foods, and souvenir items themed around International Yoga Day 2025.

CM Naidu’s Commitment to Wellness

This initiative reflects the Chief Minister’s long-standing belief in wellness as a cornerstone of development. Under his leadership, Andhra Pradesh has launched multiple public health initiatives focused on preventive care, wellness education, and fitness awareness.

The International Yoga Day 2025 is set to become a milestone in that journey—a testament to visionary leadership, people’s participation, and India’s ancient wisdom finding modern expression.

International Yoga Day 2025 will be remembered not just for the records it sets but for the collective spirit it embodies. CM Naidu’s call for a grand, meaningful celebration has sparked excitement across Andhra Pradesh. As preparations intensify, the world will be watching Visakhapatnam on June 21—with the hope that this coastal city will lead the global movement toward peace, wellness, and unity through yoga.
